Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 user manual outed by FCC

Thanks to the FCC, the user manual for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 has hit the interwebs. The device, which was first announced back in June, packs a 3″ HVGA display, 3.2 megapixel camera, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, 128 MB of internal memory, 600 MHz processor, and Android 1.6 with SE’s UX UI. The device has the 850 MHz and 1900 MHz 3G HSPA bands, which makes AT&T a likely landing spot for this little number. However, we’re starting to wonder how many mid-level Android devices can fit into AT&T’s smartphone portfolio. The PDF is live on the FCC’s website and can be downloaded directly using this link. Sony Ericsson Vivaz available September 5th on AT&T

Earlier this month, we told you about the Sony Ericsson Vivaz; an S60 powered smartphone that was destined for AT&T. Today, via a press release, AT&T has made the mid-level handset official. The handset will have a quad-band GSM and UMTS/HSPA radio, 8.1 megapixel camera with 720p video recording, 3,2-inch 360 x 640 TFT nHD resistive touch-screen display, Bluetooth, aGPS, micro-SD card slot, and come in Galaxy Blue and Venus Ruby. The device will be priced at $79.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate. You can tell how excited AT&T is about the S60 device by the brevity of its press release. We have said release ready for your scrutiny after the break.

Amazon selling Samsung Captivate for a penny

Last week, AmazonWireless had the Samsung Vibrant on sale for one, shiny penny. Now, this week, it looks like the gang over at A.W. are giving the Samsung Captivate the same treatment. If you’re up for a new 2-year contract, or are porting your number over to the Death Star, you can pick up the AT&T variant of the Galaxy S for one-tenth of a dime. If you order between 12:00 a.m. PDT on August 15 and 11:59 p.m. PDT on August 31, Amazon will even waive that criminal $36 activation charge… making this deal quite the steal. All those interested hit the read link to be sent on over to AmazonWireless.
UPDATE: The $0.01 price tag is only good for new activations. The price of the device jumps to $99 for those who want to sign a new 2-year contract. continue reading »»»

The LG C900 has been outed by a Bluetooth SIG filing as having a September 28th launch date here in the U.S. The C900, which will be released by carrier AT&T, is a Windows Phone 7 full-QWERTY slider device that will be LG’s first swing at a WP7 handset. The handset will also be released internationally as the C900B, C900K, and C900N. The device certainly has been making the rounds in the last few days. We were dropped a tip of the devices existence, shortly after Engadget was sent an image (seen above), and now this Bluetooth SIG filing has been released. What do you think? Does the September 28th date hold water?
